Shop the new Honda Accord: The redesigned 2018 Honda Accord midsize sedan strikes reviewer Clifford Atiyeh as elegant and tuned with a level of engineering attention usually dedicated to sporty cars. With a new front grille and profile that are almost German, the Accord doesn’t look like a practical commuter’s car. But it certainly meets the expectations of a commuter car while exceeding the performance, handling, and quality of controls delivered by most of them. The Accord offers two turbocharged 4-cylinder engines. Base trims come with a 1.5-liter turbo four that makes 192 hp and lb-ft of torque paired with a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission that works well and feels like a traditional automatic. A 2.0-liter turbo four replaces the previously available V6 and can be had with the manual or a 10-speed automatic. It delivers 252 hp and 273 lb-ft, making it worthy of the manual.
