as a first bike? it depends on your mindset. I got a 2012 hayabusa as my first bike. I took the MSF class. I put the bike in «C» mode and really really took my time. I've put 2000 miles on my bike with «zero» issues. I'm a very conservative driver and rider. I'm 34 years old right now. I'm not 22 or 23. I have a family and bills. I always wear full gear. I spent over $1000 on gear. prob around $1300 I guess. my bike is stock. just a slip on exhaust system and a K&n air filter. I just got my motorcycle endorsement 2 weeks ago. I've ride mostly alone. I do that on purpose so I could learn my bike. I have a excellent driving record. Yes I know a busa is a fast bike but so is a z06 vett. if you like to speed in a car all the time don't get a bike. I've been driving a stick shift car for almost 15 years. so I understand the concept of the «clutch and gas balance». that really helped me. it can be done but you have to know yourself. if you are wild and like to push the limits get a 125cc Honda grom. lol. I don't race. I just like to ride. I almost got a hayabusa when I was around 23 years old. I'm glad I waited. also I have been for two years now.
